15 Ways The United States Is The Best (At Being The Worst)
reposted from huffington post …
if you are just as sick as I am at hearing the repugs whine on and on about how changing health care is wrong because “american health care is the best there is”, or that obama just doesn’t understand american exceptionalism like he should, the following charts should make ya’ sit up and wonder …
what exceptionalism? …

The U.S. is in the top left corner in the above chart — showing how the country stands out when it comes to income gains by the top 1 percent of earners since 1960. The gains are plotted against changes in marginal income tax rates. The U.S. comes in second (just behind Britain) when it comes to handing these tax breaks out to our highest earners.

”u.s.a. … u.s.a. …, we’re no. 1!, we’re no. 1!” seems a little hollow now, doesn’t it? …
just sayin’ …
and here’s two more for good measure …
this first (sad) chart might tell most of the story …
it tracks the growth in corporate profits, the dow jones industrial average and average hourly wages of the typical worker since the crisis …
to quote sesame street, one of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn’t belong … (hint: it is your pitiful wages.)slide_316916_2909212_free
